To paint is to hold on to the light before it changes.

Michel Phelippeau draws on childhood memories, formed while wandering the halls of the Louvre, to create oil paintings on wood or canvas where composition matters as much as colour. Portraits, intimate scenes, landscapes and still lifes: a body of work guided by emotion more than by likeness.
